• Sports genre becomes top gainer in Chrome DM week 1 of 2020

    MUMBAI: Sports genre has become the top gainer in week 1 of 2020 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media data. The genre grew by 8.48 per cent. In this genre, DD Sports channel gained the highest OTS with 98.6 per cent in all India 1 lakh+ market. OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable, and DTH.

  • TRAI says it will not let big five kill other small broadcasters

    While the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), along with a few large broadcasters, approached the Bombay High Court against the amendments in the New Tariff Order, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) held a press conference in Delhi to convey its conviction on the steps it had taken to fix a few concerns raised by stakeholders and consumers. A confident TRAI Chairman RS Sharma and Secretary SK Gupta said they were not aware of any such case filed by broadcasters but said they were ready to fight it legally.

    They replace Ms. Sharmila Tagore, Ms. Arundhati Nag and Dr. Ira Bhaskar, whose terms at the Council have ended.
