MUMBAI: Antrix Corporation, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has disconnected the supply of satellite signal to direct to home (DTH) operator Independent TV.
The DTH operator’s satellite signal was switched off from 13th June after it failed to clear the dues as directed by the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).
In a message to its customers, the DTH operator has stated that the service is expected to resume only after 22nd June. “Dear customers, our services are suspended on account of satellite signal disconnection. Same are expected to resume only after June 22nd, 2019. Inconvenience is regretted,” Independent TV stated.

MUMBAI: Streaming giant Netflix is launching another video game. According to media reports, Netflix announced that it entered into a partnership with Next Games to create a third mobile game based on its hit series Stranger Things.
The new game is due to arrive next year while the Stranger Things 3: The Game will come out on 4 July, the same day the third season of the popular show premieres.
“Shortly after season one of Stranger Things, we realised this is a phenomenon. It was our first attempt at doing consumer products and merchandise. We had never done anything like that before,” Netflix interactive games director Chris Lee said as quoted by Fortune.
MUMBAI: In a move to make TV serials more understandable for mass audience, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has advised all private satellite TV channels to consider displaying the castings or credits or titles of Hindi and regional language TV serials in the respective languages also.
“To promote Indian languages we are asking TV channels to also give titles in their programmes in the Indian language in which they broadcast,” Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said.
In the release, MIB said it has noticed that several Hindi and regional language TV channels display the castings or credits or titles only in English. According to the ministry, this practice tends to deprive people versed with Hindi and regional languages of the valuable information about casting of TV serials/programmes.
MUMBAI: As a result of alleged insider trading regulation violations, market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has barred NDTV promoters Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy from accessing the securities market for a period of two years. They have also been barred from holding any management position in NDTV for two years, as per a Moneycontrol report.
A complaint received from an NDTV shareholder Quantum Securities led to the investigation and the subsequent order. It was alleged that RRPR Holdings, Prannoy and Radhika Roy, all promoters of NDTV, violated SEBI norms by not disclosing crucial information to the shareholders about loan agreements entered into by them with Vishvapradhan Commercial (VCPL).
Mumbai: NDTV promoters Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy Were barred by Market regulator SEBI from accessing the securities market for two years.
The order comes after it found both Pranoy and Radhika guilty of not disclosing information to the stock market about the loan agreements they entered into. It has also restrained them from holding or occupying any key managerial position in NDTV for two years or in any other listed company for one year.
The order prompts Prannoy and Radhika to step down from their current positions in NDTV and cannot involve in buying, selling or deal in the securities market for two years and all the existing shares they may hold, including all units of mutual funds will be frozen.These directions come into forcwith immediate effect.
