• Sun TV Network posts Rs 345.91 crore profit in Q2

    KOLKATA: Despite growth in subscription revenue, Sun TV Network’s profit for the second quarter declined 5.62 per cent to Rs 345.91 crore, from Rs.366.51 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

    The revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 756.16 crore as against Rs 773 .93 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. The total income for the quarter was at Rs 807.71 crore as against Rs 846.07 crore in Q2 FY19.

    However, it has reported a good growth in subscription revenue that is up by 14 per cent year-on-year Rs 427.04 crore compared to Rs 375.65 crore in the same quarter last year. EBITDA for the quarter is up by 7.10 per cent year over year standing at Rs 502.03 crore.

Each of these teams will have celebrated playback singers, one male and one female vocalist as their captain.

  • NDTV Group posts Q2 profit of Rs 17.6 crore

    The NDTV Group has recorded a profit of Rs 17.6 crore for Q2 that according to the company is the best second quarter figure in its history.

    This is a turnaround in profitability of Rs 28 crore over the same quarter last year.

     

    NDTV Limited has registered a profit of Rs 5.3 crore, a turnaround of Rs 15.5 crore over the same quarter last year.

    Sun TV Network’s profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2020 stood at Rs 345.91 crore, against Rs.366.51 crore in the same quarter a year ago. This is a decline of 5.62%.

    Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 756.16 crore as against Rs 773.93 crore in the year-ago period. Total income for the quarter was Rs 807.71 crore as against Rs 846.07 crore a year ago. Subscription revenue for the quarter was up 14 per cent at Rs 427.04 crore from Rs 375.65 crore for the corresponding quarter ended September 2019.

     

    EBITDA for the quarter was higher by 7.10 per cent at Rs 502.03 crore from Rs 468.74 crore a year ago.

    Working for clients and agencies were challenging for production houses during the lockdown period and in the initial months of unlock because of reduced budgets.

    After he returned from jail on Wednesday, Arnab Goswami has announced that Republic Media Network will launch news channels in every regional language in the next one year.

    After the Supreme Court granted him interim bail, Goswami, in a more aggressive manner, dared all other news networks, saying “rok sako toh rok lo” (stop if you can). “I want to tell all other news channels that Republic Media Network will launch a channel in every state in their local language in the next 11-12 months. Stop if you can.”
