Strengthening its cricket portfolio, Star India has acquired the media rights of Cricket South Africa (CSA) till the end of the 2023/24 cricket season, across Asia, Middle East and North Africa.
The agreement grants Star India exclusive rights across linear and digital mediums including all India tours to South Africa in this period. The association will commence with England’s tour to South Africa starting November 27, 2020, which is the return of cricket on Star Sports Network after IPL.
As competition in the general entertainment space (GEC) genre continues to intensify, Dangal TV has continuously been launching new shows to cater to the entertainment needs of the audience.
Speaking about the channel’s content strategy, Prashant Bhatt, Programming Head, Dangal TV, said, “Going forward, the strategy is going to completely shift towards originals. We believe Dangal has now penetrated homes and hearts, and with the kind of feedback that we have been getting from our viewer base, there is definitely this thirst and hunger for newer and fresher content. So keeping this in mind, the strategy is to come up with new originals and differentiated content.”
Chennai: Dish TV India, India’s leading DTH Company, has started broadcasting ‘Kalvi Tholaikkatchi’ – an educational channel launched by Tamil Nadu Government. The free-to-air channel will telecast daily from 06 AM to 11 PM on both its platforms- DishTV & D2H.
Available on channel number 597 on both DishTV and D2H, Kalvi Tholaikkatchi telecasts programs conducted by experts on preparing for competitive examinations as well as programs that enhance the students’ creativity. Additionally, the channel provides all the major announcements related to students and also has live programs by the School Education Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Veteran journalist Prabhu Chawla has returned to the India Today Group after a hiatus of 10 years as Editorial Consultant of TV Today Network. He will join on December 1, 2020.
The announcement was made by India Today Group Vice-Chairperson Kalli Purie in an internal communication earlier this morning.
Chawla had quit India Today Group as Group Editorial Director and Editor, India Today (Languages) in 2010 after spending more than two decades with the group.
Chawla was the original host of the iconic award-winning TV show Seedi Baat. He will, once again, be seen weekly on Aaj Tak, interviewing the most prominent personalities of the nation, Puri wrote.

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (SET) is all set to unveil season 12 of its popular vocal talent hunt programme, Indian Idol. Produced by Fremantle Media, the show has successfully completed its first-ever digital auditions – Ghar Se Manch Tak Ka Safar – in the new normal, and will begin airing from 28 November, every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm only on SET.
Just like Kaun Banega Crorepati, the makers of Indian Idol 12 have decided to take the digital route amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Auditions were conducted virtually, thereby making it easier for aspirants to participate from the safety of their homes. Taking on the mantle as judges will be singers and musicians Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Vishal Dadlani, while Aditya Narayan will host the show.
